Audio

Built for the way you play.

From a quick acoustic set to a 32-channel multitrack rig, qPlayer scales to whatever the gig needs, on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Designed for live performance reliability.

Multitrack AudioGig

Plug your iPhone, iPad, or Mac into a USB audio interface or digital mixer and get true multichannel output, up to 32 channels. qPlayer auto-detects your interface and routes each channel 1:1 to the hardware outputs.

Send a click to the drummer, keys to monitor 3, and the full mix to front of house. If the USB device disconnects mid-show, Stereo Fallback automatically downmixes your audio for robust playback during live shows, with per-channel Mute from Stereo Mix to keep click, talkback, or in-ear-only channels out of the front-of-house downmix.

qPlayer multitrack audio settings

Stereo, Free Forever

Crystal-clear stereo playback with gapless transitions, professional fades, and per-cue control, all included in the free tier. Get on stage with your first setlist in minutes.

Meet qMix

A real output console inside qPlayer: long-throw faders, mutes, solo, and true metering for every output, sitting after your cue levels. When the engineer wants more click in the wedges, you nudge one fader instead of editing every cue, then save the room as a snapshot for next time.

qMix is a one-time £19.99 add-on for any tier, and it's included with Pro.

Read the qMix guide on the support site.

Visuals

Every cue, every screen, in sync.

Drive your external screens with per-cue video, looping backdrops, and live previews on your device, without leaving the player. On Mac, output video and prompt to separate external displays simultaneously.

Video PlaybackPlus

Output video to any external display for live visuals, lyrics, or content playback alongside your audio. Connect via HDMI or AirPlay on iPhone and iPad, or map multiple displays in Output Preferences on Mac.

Set a per-setlist looping MP4 backdrop for animated stage visuals between cues, or a still image, sponsor graphic, or band logo. Backdrops loop continuously across the whole show, so they never restart between songs.

On Mac, multi-display output lets you send video to one screen and teleprompter text to another, configured from Output Preferences with per-display mapping.

qPlayer video playback with confidence monitor

Confidence Monitor

See exactly what's on your external display without turning around. The built-in confidence monitor previews your video, images, and standby screen in real-time, right on your iPhone or iPad.

No external display? Toggle it off and qPlayer skips video processing entirely, freeing CPU and memory so a video-rich setlist still runs smoothly as audio-only backup.

Studio

Author your show on a timeline.

qPlayer Studio is a full timeline editor on Mac. Place audio stems, video, DMX lighting cues, and teleprompter blocks on a single timeline. Publish to your setlist with one click.

Watch: multitrack audio, video and a synced teleprompter, built into one cue and published to a setlist.

Timeline Authoring

Audio waveforms, video lane, DMX lanes with scene blocks, prompt lane with text blocks. Drag, resize, snap. Everything in sync on a single unified timeline.

Build your entire show visually. Place audio stems exactly where they need to be, layer video and lighting cues over the top, and add teleprompter text for each section. When you're happy, publish the session to your setlist and it's ready to play.

Audition Preview

Play back your session in Studio with live audio, video preview, DMX output, and prompt preview. Hear and see exactly what your audience will experience, before you ever step on stage.

Scrub through the timeline, solo individual lanes, and fine-tune transitions until every cue is perfect.

TeleprompterPlus

Your script, synced to the show.

Place text blocks on the Studio timeline. During playback, prompt text scrolls in sync, on a dedicated display on Mac, or on the device screen on iPad. One block per verse or section, each with its own independent scroll speed.

Reading-Rate Aware

Each text block calculates scroll speed based on the amount of text and the block duration on the timeline. Longer passages scroll faster; short cues hold steady. No manual speed tweaking required.

Preview your prompt output in the confidence monitor alongside video, so you always know what your audience and your performer see at the same time.

qDMX · Pro Tier

Lighting that fires with the music.

Control your stage lighting straight from qPlayer over Art-Net or sACN, across multiple universes, on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Patch your rig, build scenes and movement, fire lighting changes with every cue, and watch every channel live.

Watch: from an unpatched rig to lighting firing with your cues, start to finish.

Multi-universe

Design your whole rig

Patch fixtures from a built-in library, lay them out across multiple universes, and build scenes, movement patterns, and colour palettes. Group fixtures so one move drives them all, with automatic pan/tilt mirroring for symmetrical rigs.

Assign a scene to any cue for an instant lighting change, or drop scene blocks on the Studio timeline for frame-accurate, cue-to-light sync.

Live

Watch every channel, live

The fixture-aware output monitor shows exactly what qPlayer is sending, fixture by fixture and channel by channel, in real time as the show runs.

Spot a stuck channel or a mispatched fixture in seconds. Confidence that what you built is what's hitting the rig.

Fixture library

600+ fixtures, built in

qDMX ships with a fixture library of over 600 profiles from more than 130 manufacturers, so most rigs patch in minutes. Search by make and model, pick your channel mode, and the profile is stored on your device and works completely offline.

The Setup Assistant builds your rig one light at a time, flashing each fixture on stage so you know the right light is answering before it joins the rig. Something the library doesn't know? Run a live channel scan, or attach a photo of the manual's channel chart and qPlayer builds the profile, with every channel shown for you to check before it's saved.

See the full list of supported fixtures on the support site.

Why qPlayer

The whole show, in one app.

Audio, video, lighting, and a teleprompter usually mean separate software, separate machines, and separate bills. qPlayer runs all of it from one GO button.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does qPlayer work offline?

Yes, completely. Shows, audio, video, and lighting all run from local storage on your device. No account, no internet connection, and nothing to log into at the venue.

Do I need a subscription?

No. qPlayer is free to download and use in stereo. Gig, Plus, and Pro are one-time purchases that unlock features permanently. There is no subscription.

What is qMix, and is it included?

qMix is qPlayer's output mixer: faders, mutes, solo, and real meters for every output, sitting after your cue levels, with mix snapshots. It's a one-time £19.99 add-on for any tier, and it's included with Pro.

What happens when the 14-day trial ends?

Every new install starts with full Pro access for 14 days. When it ends you keep all your shows and setlists, and playback continues on the Free tier. Buying a tier at any time unlocks its features permanently.

Does one purchase cover Mac, iPhone, and iPad?

Yes. qPlayer is a Universal Purchase, so buying a tier on any Apple device unlocks it on all of them with the same Apple ID.

What hardware do I need for multitrack audio?

Any class-compliant USB audio interface. Connect it to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and qPlayer routes each channel of your multitrack file 1:1 to the hardware outputs, up to 32 channels.

Can audio, video, lighting, and the teleprompter really run at the same time?

Yes. One GO fires the multitrack audio, sends video to your screens, scrolls the teleprompter, and drives your DMX rig, in sync, from a single device.
